Group of 39 Mid-19th Century American Cartes-de-Visite, Plus 2 Tintypes
Available from more sellers
Group of 39 cartes-de-visite, produced in New York, Albany, Philadelphia, San Francsico, Decatur and other American cities -- with just one from Matamoros, Mexico. Average size about 65 x 100 mm. Portraits of men (a few from the Sulzberger family are labelled by hand on the verso), women, and children; in excellent condition, just the occasional dusty finger-smudge, and one card chipped along the edges. Also includes two tintypes. One, an image of a man in tophat sitting in a park. The other, an image of two men, one seated, one standing, in (perhaps) the same park, the blurred movements of people behind them. An appealing little hodge-podge. Bookseller Inventory # MW11022
