Light foxing to outer edge of pages which also show some signs of browning down length of pages. Dust jacket shows some signs of rubbing, particularly to edges of spine. Endpapers are decorated with a map of Ceylon. This is the second edition of the original edition published in 1955 and has been updated to show newly recorded species of birds and to include the black and white illustrations following page 436 which show the different types of nests.
