During the late 1930s and early 1940s, the Work Projects Administration (or Works Progress Administration) (WPA) in Minnesota produced a number of published histories and information resources. Inventories of the archives of half of Minnesota's 87 counties were published. These county archives inventories contain a historical background of the county, information on its government and officials, an inventory of archival resources, and an index.
