The section on obesity reviews information regarding diets and metabolism, and emotional eating. There is also a review of vitamin supplementation recommendations.

This book is the result of 15 years of patient counseling! This experience has provided me with special tips to help clients be successful in their journeys to health and a passion towards helping many to feel good. My own passion for science and research in the areas of Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease and Weight Management drive me towards a full understanding of all the complexities involved in being successful in the management of these conditions. For instance, in my practice, I use several different protocols to treat obesity. Some individuals have lots of problems with emotional eating or Binge Eating Disorder. These individuals are provided a completely different plan than those individuals who simply make poor food choices. From their we can look at the science behind the relationship between food and mood, possibly utilizing different meal plans which would positively affect serotonin levels, which would affect carbohydrate cravings! Some individuals do not have emotional eating, do not make terrible food choices and yet have difficulty losing weight. Understanding the factors, which we currently know about metabolism, may help this person make a few changes and begin to lose fat. I have also learned over the years that individuals have busy lives and need information which can be reviewed quickly to allow for immediate implementation. The Guide to Healthy Living provides readers with easy to implement lifestyle changes to prevent or manage the major diseases affecting Americans today!
