Included in this massive archive are approximately 2500 items in the correspondence files, many film scripts and production materials (1915 - 1971) with some items from his early silent films and television programs; hundreds of legal materials (1917 - 1974) including studio contracts, production agreements, and non-film matters; a miscellaneous section related to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Bel Air Association, the Field Photo Home, membership cards and awards, and various personal items. Also included are preparation notes and tape recordings of interviews for his son, Dan FordÕs biography, Pappy: The Life of John Ford; approximately 3500 photographs and movie stills from his personal collection - many of which are from other peopleÕs films; and a selection of John FordÕs films, including an undated home movie.
