HARLEM MASONIC RECORDS, 1924-1927. Page after page of petitions for membership to Medina Temple #19 (approx. 150 - 200pp.). Very useful for research on Harlem ancestors in the migration period. Has names, addresses, occupations, etc. of those applying for membership in the masons. An excellent source of primary data on organization-minded Harlem residents during the beginning of the Harlem Renaissance. It was these types of people who lead to the glory days of Harlem in the following two decades. These documents are unusual and rare since masonic documents are almost never available to the public. Not likely to be found elsewhere. VG (no covers, leaves bound together with a metal clip. A few pages curled and slightly chipped but in general readable and intact). Bookseller Inventory #
