Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. . .**** This is an Old, Historic and Scarce Paper which has the Earmarks in Contents and Condition that could result in a Handsome increase in Value while in Your Possession **** -- This is an Original, complete issue of 16 pages dated September 26, 1857 -- Vol. 1, No. 39 -- Illustrated With Wood Cut Engravings -- Covers and contents are tight, nice condition -- This paper is technically referred to as a periodical, actually it is a Historical Document, recording events at the time of their occurrence -- An excellent opportunity to obtain a very early issue from the first year of publication of Harper's Weekly -- Pages 620 through page 622 contain a Fascinating article titled "Sepoys Blown From The Guns" accompanied by a full page engraving titled "Preparing To Blow The Sepoys From The Cannon's Mouth" depicting the men to be executed tied to the cannon's mouth and then blown to pieces at the command to fire, this was an event occurring during the great East Indian Rebellion -- The Front cover has an engraving and article titled "A Haunt Of Fashion" -- Page 613 has an engraving and article titled "Gateway Of The Great Temple Of Juggernauth" -- Pages 615 & 616 contains a double page centerfold engraving titled "The Collins Steamer 'Adriatic' The Largest Ship In The World" -- Page 620 has an engraving titled "Tiberias And The Sea Of Galilee (Mount Hermon In The Distance)" -- Other engravings and articles related to events occurring at the time -- An excellent opportunity for the Researcher, Historian, and Collector.
