**** This is an Old, Historic and Scarce Paper which has the Earmarks in Contents and Condition that could result in a Handsome increase in Value while in Your Possession **** -- This is an original , complete issue of 16 pages dated September 19, 1863 -- Vol. 7, No. 351 -- Illustrated with 12 wood cut engravings -- Covers and contents are tight, very small address label is affixed to top right of cover, nice condition -- CIVIL WAR ISSUE -- This paper is technically referred to as a periodical, actually it is a historical document, recording events at the time of their occurrence -- The Front cover has a full page engraving titled "The Secretary of State and the Diplomatic Corps at Trenton Falls", Page 596 has an engraving titled "The Siege of Charleston-The Morning Call to the Rebels", Page 597 has 3 engravings titled "The Siege of Charleston- The Rebels Last Device in The Torpedo Line", "Diagram Showing the Torpedo Buried in the Sand", and "The Siege of Charleston-The Swamp Angel", Pages 600 & 601 is a double page centerfold engraving by Thomas Nast titled "Southern Exiles on Their Way North", Page 604 has an engraving titled "The Ruins of Lawrence Kansas", Page 605 has 3 engravings titled "Drinking the Sulphur Water", "General Patrick's Head-Quarters", and "The Army of the Potomac--General Birney's Camp at Warrenton Sulphur Springs Virginia" -- This issue also contains a portion of the serialization of "Very Hard Cash" by Charles Reade -- Many articles and editorials related to these engravings and other incidents of the Civil War -- An excellent opportunity for the collector and researcher.
