Oblong 4to. (24 cm.) unpaged [36p. including endpapers which have text on them]/ Lavishly illustrated throughout with full-color drawings by Ezra Jack Keats. Color pictorial paper over boards with a white linen spine with black letters. Just touches of wear to extremities, spine very slightly discolored, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Dust jacket has a fingernail-sized chip missing at the top of the spine with a slight abrasion to the bottom of the spine, else near fine and not price-clipped. ($4.50). A lifelong New Yorker, Ezra Jack Keats was a well-regarded artist before he began writing nd illustrating books for children. "He is the first children's book author-artist to be asked to donate all facets of his work--manuacripts, illustrations, correspondence, etc.--to Harvard University."
