A complete set of first printings of the 7 volume set published between 1909 - 1962. All are oversize volumes, with I & II from 1909 covering the regiment from its founding through service in Spain & Portugal during the Napoleonic Wars, The Crimean War, Lucknow, Sudan culminating with The Boer War. They are tight near FINEcopies with strong hinges, together illustrated with 50 plates (9 of them in color). Volumes III & IV from 1931 are on World War I, where the battalions variously fought in France including battles of Aisne, Loos, The Somme, as well as in Salonika & Macedonia, together illustrated with 69 photo plates & 22 maps (including 5 in pocket at the rear of Volume III). They are tight near FINE copies with strong hinges. Volumes V & VI from 1952 are on World War II, illustrated with numerous photos & maps (including foldout). They are both FINE copies, each with a "corrigenda & addenda" sheet laid-in, in FINE dust wrappers. Volume VII from 1962 covers the post-War period, along with numerous appendices & is FINE in a near FINE dust wrapper with some age-discoloration to the spine. Lastly, there is an Addenda and Corrigenda to Volume VII, printed in 1975. It is very good in printed wrappers with a couple of minor creases & some dustiness to the covers. Bookseller Inventory #
