This is a beautifully illustrated book in Very; several loose pages including the frontispiece, title page and table of contents. The table of contents page is tattered. Many pages have smudges. However, there are NO missing pages. There are 242 pages plus 84 plates. Most of the plates are of the residences of Alleghany Co. in the late 1870's. One of the plates is double-size Map of Pittsburgh in 1795 with a Plan of Frontier Fortification and Plan of Fort Pitt. In back of book is " Allegheny County in the Rebellion" which includes Three Months Volunteers, Three Years' Service, The Artillery of Alleghany Co. in the Rebellion, and Sketches of Eminent Military Men. Also included is Roster of Soldiers from War of 1812, Mexican War, War of the Rebellion and "Roll of Honor".the Death-Roll of Allegheny Co. Soldiers During the Rebellion. Folio size. Book measures 11 1/2" x 14". A scarce book with a wealth of information. Poor condition. Front and back covers are loose and spine is missing. There are. Bookseller Inventory # 6449
