About this Item

No publisher or place given, no date but 1840 or earlier as owner signature is dated 1840. Hardcover, Octavo, 113p. (double column text), extra illustrated with 4 very fine full page original brown ink portraits, somewhat humorous, of Washington Irving, Wouter Van Twiller, Wilhelmus Kieft and Pieter Stuyvesant, original boards with later paper spine. Additional small sexy picture of barebreasted waitress drawn in pencil mounted inside rear cover. Book is inscribed to Fred Prime from "F T P" , presumably also a Prime and also very likely the artist who did the portraits as one of the portraits is initialed "FTP" in same handwriting as the inscription. Foldout printed picture of New York in 1640 tipped in inside front cover. Good, boards a bit worn and soiled. Bookseller Inventory # a84928
