Dust jacket decorated with color pictorial front panel illustrated with image of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head (same illustration as the Bobbs-Merrill first). Dj has some soiling and toning with latter strongest along spine which has 1cm loss at heel but only shallow chipping at head; nicks and tears at edges as well; several small slender chips along flap folds; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Red cloth with black stamped lettering to spine and front board; frayed spine head has cloth loss which descends towards rear joint where it is worn even with text block's top edge; patch of surface abrasion to cloth at spine heel; cloth worn and frayed along top edges of both boards. Aquamarine top edge; toned fore-edge and bottom edge; some toning to endpapers with past owner's ink signature on front free endpaper; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A good+ copy in a still attractive good+ dust jacket which usually is not present at all. Earl Derr Biggers only authored six Charlie Chan novels. The series started in 1925 with the release of THE HOUSE WITHOUT A KEY and concluded with KEEPER OF THE KEYS first published in 1932. However the fictional Chinese-American detective was far more popular in cinematic adaptations for filmographer Charles P.
