Set of seven (7) vintage original 11 x 8 ½" (28 x 22 cm.) promotional prints, USA. A rare set of prints, made by and for NBC while they were broadcasting this famous television childrens show, portraying these various characters: Howdy Doody, Phineas T. Bluster, Clarabell, Flub-a-Dub, Windy Scuttlebutt, Dilly Dally and Inspector John J. Faddozie ("America's number one private eye"). "The Howdy Doody Show" was an iconic part of most baby boomers' childhoods, and one meets, from time to time, men and women who fondly remember as children having been in the audience, which was called the Peanut Gallery. This collection of vintage prints comes with a letter of provenance, explaining that the person from whom these were obtained had in turn gotten then from his uncle, who was then promotional director for NBC.
