Arthur Palmer Hudson (1892-1978) was professor of English at UNC Chapel Hill from 1930 to 1953 and the university's executive secretary of the Curriculum in Folklore from 1950 to 1963. The book was acquired from the estate of Dr. Rhoda Coleman Ellison (1904-2005) who earned her M.A. from Columbia University in 1929 and her Ph.D. in English from University of North Carolina in 1945 where she was undoubtedly under Hudson's tutelage. Ellison taught at Montgomery, Alabama's Huntingdon College from 1930 to 1971 chairing the school's English department from 1959 to 1971 and thereafter appointed professor emerita. Ellison authored several Alabama-related books including an authoritative local history "Bibb County, Alabama: The First Hundred Years, 1818-1918.". Bookseller Inventory #
