Blue cloth with orange paper labels printed and decorated (with buffaloes) in black on the front cover and the spine. Minor wear to extremities with nothing rubbed through, cloth clean labels pretty much intact (spine label slightly darkened), previous owner's rubber stamp 9Ted Komula), all illustrations present and in fine condition, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. Edward Douglas Branch [1905-1954] was also the author of THE COWBOY AND HIS INTERPRETERS (1926), as well as several other popular books on the American West. "Branch was a popularizer and synthesizer of western history rather than a research scholar.
