One of two American editions published in 1822, the other being the New York edition published by Samuel Campbell & Son. The first edition was published in Edinburgh that same year. 32mo. [2 (blank)], 107, [3 (1 blank)] pp. Shaw & Shoemaker 10201. Library half leather over paper boards, rubbed, worn around edges, front back covers pressure-stamped by a now-defunct institution. Front cover, with free endpaper and fly-leaf separated. Rear joint cracked, hinge (inside) reinforced with archival tape. Spine chipped, exposing underlying wood. Previous owner's signature, dated 1822, at top of title-page. Foxed. Stamped on title-page and several other pages. Back free endpaper with library pocket. Bookseller Inventory # 7329
