About this Item
Original postcard, 5 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. Features: 'A special concoction invented by M. Bilgray in honor of the visit of Aimee Semple McPherson (incognito) to Bilgray's Cabaret.' Interesting and humorous details can be found on the blogosphere concerning this episode of cocktail history, in which this well known bar owner gave out free postcards after the celebrity evangelists and fierce prohibitionist Aimee McPherson had a drink at his bar in disguise. A lawsuit was filed by McPherson's husband against Bilgray but was dropped after media attention. Although it is claimed thousands of these post-cards were distributed, very few seem to have survived. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 41385
