This book has been signed by both the author and by Rear Admiral Alan Kirk, who wrote the foreword. The book is in very good condition, with light wear to the covers. Well bound and solid. Light toning to the gutter of the signed page. Mason was an American journalist who served in the flagship of Rear Admiral Kirk, Commander of the Sixth Amphibious Force, and this book describes the amphibious landings in North Africa and Sicily. Kirk, who served in World War I and World War II, went on to become the U.S. Ambassador to Belgium, the Soviet Union and Taiwan. The only copy I have seen that was signed by both Brown and Kirk.
