About this Item

Member of the first U.S. basketball team to ever win the gold medal (Berlin, 1936), this Lithuanian-American player popularized the sport in that country and earned the nickname the "Grandfather of Lithuanian Basketball"; played for the UCLA Bruins from 1928 to 1931. Four-page (rectos only) mimeographed list, 8" X 11", n.p., n.y. [Pasadena, CA, 1984]. Near fine. Staple at upper left; two original folds. To a collector of Olympic basketball player autographs, Lubin sends this "U.S. Olympic Basketball Player's Addresses" list, noting "Dear Mr. Laade: / Here are a few" in black ink at the top, adding the word "Silver" alongside one category and circling another. Not signed by Lubin, but a bold small handwriting sample. Comes with the original mailing envelope bearing Lubin's green rubberstamped return name/address and decorated with several colorful Los Angeles 1984 Olympics labels. Bookseller Inventory # 34985
