About this Item

First edition. Emerald green cloth ornately lettered and decorated in black and gilt, tipped on color litho of little boy in scarf and holding snowballs front cover. Other binding colors seen, presumably no priority. Unpaginated (aprox. 175 pp.) Illustrated with full page engravings, decorated chapter head and tail pieces. Collection of tales for boys; despite the title claim, we recognized none of the unnamed authors but the stories include, "Ghosts and Water-Melons", "Robin Hood and Another Hood", "Charlie's Week In Boston and "A Confederate Christmas Tree" among others. A tight, bright example, Christmas 1877 gift inscription front free endpaper; some stining to te title page and here and there in the text and with one signature loosened.
