About this Item

First edition softcover limited to 1,000 copies; white boards with blue and black lettering and a vintage photo on the front cover. The hinges and binding are firm and the 106 pages are clean and unmarked. The author's signature, message and date are on the title page in black ink as follows: For Guy Rocha- your help means a lot to me! Hope you enjoy learning about the 3 C's. Dennis McBride 9-18-95. Guy is a former Nevada State Archivist whose passion for myth busting is legendary. Guy's philosophy is, "We are entitled to our own opinions, but not our own facts." The book covers the Civilian Conservation Corps in Nevada. It was created by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1933 and became one of the New Deal's most popular programs. With unemployment at 25 % and 250,000 young men seeking work in a ruined economy, the CCC saved the nation from dispair. There are many black and white vintage photos to document the lives of men in the CCC. A nice copy of an informative book. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 001363
