This hardcover book is square and tight. The boards and spine have have wear to the edges and extremities, with battered points. The gilt on the spine is bright and attractive. The pages and endpages are clean, with no markings or folds, save corner folds to the first two pages. The toning/foxing is well within reasonably expected levels and all of the content is easily legible. Not ex-lib. No remainder mark. This volume contains "Charleston, The Palmetto City", by William Gilmore Simms. There are many other articles, of course, and hundreds of illustrations. 864 pages. Original printing: Not a reprint.
