About this title

A selection of the best columns written by North Dakota farmer and rancher Dean Meyer. These columns have appeared regularly in monthly magazines and weekly newspapers for the past 20 years. In "Hat Tips," Meyer takes his readers through the four seasons on a Northern Plains ranch. No subject has been spared his uproarious brand of humor! From birthday presents, pinochle, golfing, calving, branding, haying, harvest, roundup, rodeos to horse sales --Dean analyzes it all!

About the Author:

A lifelong western North Dakota farmer and rancher, Dean Meyer began writing columns while serving a 10-year stint in the North Dakota Legislature, beginning in 1971. This was followed by monthly columns in the North Dakota Stockman's Association magazine, while he was the group's president. In 1994 the North Dakota Water magazine became home to a monthly column, which continues today. And, Dean has since added to his audience the readers of The Range Magazine, published in New Mexico, and 12 weekly newspapers.
