Small octavo [5.5" x 8.25"], 370 pages with 2 pages of additional publisher's advertisements. Translated by Ellen E. Frewer. Illustrated throughout with numerous black and white plates. Hardbound in publisher's original red pictoral cloth. Front and spine lettered and illustrated in gold and black. Rear stamped in blind with decorative border design. The book is in very good plus condition. Light scuffing to the board and spine edges with slightly bumped corners. Minor shelf wear to the boards and spine. The gilt illustrations on the spine and front board are incredibly well preserved and vibrant. The hinges are starting. The textblock is largely neat and bright with clean and clear plates.
