About this title

Book by Carey, Keith

From Library Journal:

Carey, a helicopter pilot, begins with a historical overview of helicopter technology, and organizes the rest of the book according to the major users of rotor-craft: army, navy, search-and-rescue units, and civil units. As with the first two applications, the third application is also military, although the search-and-rescue chapter includes several fascinating stories of military units used in civil emergencies. The chapter on civil uses covers business and utility applications and medical helicopters. The book is up-to-date, authoritative, and valuable in its coverage of European operations, giving American readers a broader perspective. The bibliography is brief, however, and emphasizes British publishers. R.E. Bilstein, Univ. of Houston-Clear Lake
