About this Item

Entire July 12 issue, in original wraps, with full-page side-view portrait of a disturbed - looking Hemingway, light general wear, fine creasing noted along rear cover at spine, else clean and bright. Illustrated with 13 photographs, mostly of the author. This appears to be a memorial review of the author's life and work. Illustrations include Hemingway in sporting attire servicing a shotgun, a portrait of Ezra Pound, Hemingway standing next to an airplane in aviation attire, the sculpture by Davidson of Gertrude Stein, Ernest and Spanish matador Luis Miguel Dominguin, Ernest standing alongside a landed marlin, a young Hemingway ready for a hunt, a middle-aged Ernest standing at the typewriter, and photos of Ernest with Hadley Richardson from 1924, Pauline Pfeiffer from 1934, Martha Gellhorn from 1940, and Mary Welsh from 1950. Magazine is in German. Housed in protective mylar report cover with spine sleeve. Very scarce. Bookseller Inventory # 008997
