Small bump at head of each spine. First edition, limited to 1500 copies -- tight and handsome, and this set with fine autograph addition: Tipped to the front flyleaf of the first volume is a Typed Note Signed from Crown, 1p, 7¼" X 10½", Chicago, IL, 28 June 1976. Addressed to Ralph G. Newman (1912-98), founder of Chicago's noted Abraham Lincoln Book Shop). The financier tells his friend "I am pleased to enclose my check in the amount of $50 for lifetime membership in the Stephen A. Douglas Association." Signed simply "Henry" in black fineline. Crown (1896-1990) was a renowned industrialist and one of Chicago's most notable philanthropists -- as witness this small example. Bookseller Inventory # 41209
