Title: Henry Hull & Tobacco Road Collection.
Hull was an American actor who had a long a successful career on the stage and in films. He is best remembered for his as Jeeter in the stage version of Erskine Caldwell's Tobacco Road which opened on Broadway in 1933. This collection is centered around the 1935 road show appearance of the play in Chicago. The collection includes: 1. A large format photograph of Hull in costume, inscribed by Hull to Henry Peabody in 1935. Peabody was a character in Tobacco Road, played in 1935 by Herbert A. Pratt. 2. A publicity photograph of Hull inscribed by Hull "To Joy, for auld lang syne, henry, 1904 - 1935." 3. Photograph of Hull in costume. 4. Play program for "Henry Hull In Tobacco Road." 14pp. 1935, Signed and / or inscribed by all 11 cast members who appeared in that production, including Hull, Leon Ames and Fiske O'Hara. 5. Photograph of Herbert A. Pratt in costume inscribed by Pratt on the reverse. 6. Photograph of Fiske O'Hara. Inscribed by O'Hara. 7.
