First edition. Blue cloth. Ornate gilt illustrations along the upper front cover. 149 pages. With illustrations throughout, all present as called for. SIGNED by the author on the first endpaper. A book length poem on the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the Crawford's and their homestead. Smyth is perhaps better known as an inventor who developed a book sewing machine for bookbinding that uses what is now known as the Smyth sewing technique. GOOD+ condition with a vertical scuff line to the front cover, general scuffing and fading to the covers and extremities. Minor soiling. Interior clean and solid with light browning to the paper.
