About this Item

Language: French. There is a small note in blue pen on the first page of the introduction, as well as traces of a prior owner's stamps on the fourth page, otherwise no owners' marks; the page block is rippled from dampness, and there are water stains on the bottom edges of several pages, as well as some foxing scattered frequently throughout; binding is cracked at the front hinge, with stitches showing, and is generally relaxed throughout, but pages remain securely attached; the leather quarterbinding is heavily rubbed, with the lettering on the spine nearly illegible, and there is some tearing at the edges of the cover's paper, as well as rub-through along the free edges, yet overall attractive and sound. 608 pp. with several full-page engravings. Size: 8vo. Bookseller Inventory # 054285
