First edition of this Royalist history, in which Montjoie attributes most of the responsibility for the French Revolution to the Duc d'Orl?ans, that "wicked prince," who was allegedly aided by a group of Masonic conspirators. Binding: Contemporary treed calf; spines with gilt-stamped decorative bands and compartment devices, and with gilt-stamped leather title and volume labels. Edges gilt-rolled. All page edges stained yellow. 3 vols. 8vo (25 cm, 8").
