Moss writes p456-457 that "the editor greatly enhanced the value of this volume by assistance of two MSS, (one which he obtained from Dr. Bancroft, Archbishop of Canterbudy and the other from the library belonging to Eton College". Moss adds further that Gale greatly enlarged and corrected the Greek Glossary, the index of the Ionic dialect, the chronological annals of Herodotus, and the notes and various readings.
