Recently professionally rebacked with original spines laid down. 368; 498; 462 pp. B&W engraved illustrations in text, incl. engraved half-titles, B&W folding map to vol. I. Christmas gift inscription to front pastedown of vol. I dated 1846. Light general soiling to cloth commensurate with age. Light chafing to extremities, some bumping to corners, a few small spots of wear. Sporadic foxing to interior, mostly to front and end matter. Light edge toning.
