L.S. Dickey, IL. This unit fought in the Peninsula Campaign and was with the army at the Seven Days. After the Seven Days the 103d Pennsylvania was sent to North Carolina for the action around New Berne. They stayed in North Carolina until captured at Plymouth in April 1864. Many of the unit members perished at Andersonville and Florence POW camps. Many photos and a superb, detailed fold out map of North Carolina in the rear. Very good copy of the first edition. No dust jacket. This copy is embossed ‘Historical Society of Montana, Helena, Montana’. There is a small nickel sized discoloration on the lower spine about where a call letter would be, but it is unrecognizable what caused the discoloration.
