About this Item

B002MGIXTU Ex-library, with expected library markings. This is original 1892 edition and is apparently the first US edition, issued by A.C. Armstrong and Son. 1892. It was printed originally in London by Chapman and Hall, Ltd. It is illustrated with 280 engravings. The boards are dark red, with gray printing and three lions on front, gilt and a woman on spine, and a symbol in gray on reverse. The boards are soiled, have wrinkles and some abrasions,mild/moderate corner wear and a small tear on one front board edge. Page edges are soiled. Front hinge is starting. Pages are lightly toned, but appear to have no damage and are clean and clear. There is a printer's "a" near the bottom on the half title page and a gift inscription at the top. Book was donated to Friends of the Omaha Public Library. Bookseller Inventory # SKU1028105
