Book Description Printed for Henry Colburn and Co. and Martin Bossange and Co, London, 1824. Hardcover. Second edition. 377; 471; 389; 408; 395; 423; 483pp. Octavo [23 cm] Brown cloth over boards with gilt stamped titles on the spine, and elaborate embossed designs on the spine and covers. Top edge trimmed; other edges deckled. Pale yellow endpapers. With two pages of publisher's adverts at the rear of the first volume. Very good. The extremities are mildly rubbed and the spine ends and corners of the covers are bumped. The spines are subtly sunned. Several of the covers have very small stains. There is a thin loss from the cloth at the foot of the fifth volume. There are a few large damp stains on the endsheets. The pages are foxed here and there, and have sporadic light tide marks, however the majority of the pages are quite bright. The threads are visible in the inside margins of some of the pages in volume VI. The bindings are very sturdy. Complete, with 18 plates. Three volumes of "Historical Miscellanies," dictated to the Count De Montholon, followed by four volumes of memoirs dictated to both the Count De Montholon and General Gourgaud. Subjects include Observations on the Wars of Marshal Turenne, Review of the Wars of Frederic II, Siege of Toulon, Naval Battle of Aboukir, War of Italy, among others. Seller Inventory # 42050
