Frontispiece of Hernan Cortès engraved by George Vertue, six engraved foldout plates, and a map. With the neat bookplate of mining engineer Franklin Wheaton Smith, designed by Robert W. Hyde. Leather shows some wear, front joint partially cracked, old faint stain to top edge partially affecting some of the plates, mild sporadic foxing, lettering on spine dulled. A good+ copy.
