About the book >.>.> This work is written as a supplement to Kane's "List of Officers of the Royal Regiment of Artillery," and it is through the kind help of the Committee of the Royal Artillery Institution I am now able to produce in book-form the results of my study. Several histories of the Royal Artillery have been written, but up to the present time none have been illustrated. My drawings will be of value more on account of their aim at accuracy of detail than for their artistic merit. I have carried out the scheme of dividing the work into chapters, each corresponding to a separate reign. This, as will be seen at a glance, makes some of the chapters very much longer than others. and such, of course, contain many more drawings: George III. and Queen Victoria's (OS).
