First edition. Three volumes, quarto (29 x 23cm). Vol. I, pp. xvi,588; Vol. II, pp. viii,514; Vol. III, pp. viii,462,[2]. Final leaf of publisher's adverts in third volume. An excellent set in contemporary caramel straight-grain morocco, the spine in six panels with contrasting twin labels, gilt, aeg, the boards with gilded borders, pink endpapers. Some very light rubbing, slight scuffs to lower edges where they meet the shelves, the boards with some spotting, but a most handsome set. Contemporary engraved armorial bookplate of Sir John, the 1st Earl of Stradbroke & M.P. for Suffolk from 1780-96. & the Stradbroke name also added in MS & dated 1827 on the endpaper versos. Vg.
