A detailed history of freemasonry in Rhode Island, detailing the formation of the Grand Lodge, events during the anti-masonic period and its growth and evolution from the late 18th to the late 19th century. Also included is a history of the origin and early freemasonry, early freemasonry in America, chapters on capitular and cryptic masonry, order of the Knights Templar and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. GOOD condition. Moderate to heavy soiling/staining to the front cover along the extremities, with some soiling and staining to the rear cover and spine. General fading and minor scuffing. A 1 1/2 inch spot worn white in the cloth at the lower center spine. Extremities scuffed, pulled and frayed. Text block solid but toned. Sporadic dampstaining visible throughout the book, affecting the lower and lower fore edge margins. Bookseller Inventory # 007853
