Publisher's green cloth, discolored and rubbed through to boards at edges, corners, and top and bottom of spine; strip of black tape at top of spine and onto boards. Publisher's paper spine label Front hinge (inside) crudely repaired with brown paper tape. Text block skewed in binding. Waterstaining in lower inner margin at rear, occasionally into text. Rear hinge cracking. Ex?social club library: 19th-century bookplate, call number on endpaper, pressure-stamp on title-page, no other markings. A copy for an impoverished scholar.
