Both hardbacks are i very good condition with previous owner name on front end papers. Volume 1 has dark green boards with gilt lettering, browning to end papers, stain to front end papers and title page, cracked hinges, clean/unmarked text, lightly bumped/worn corners, 504 pages. Volume 2 has maroon boards with gilt lettering, lightly sunned spine with some light spotting, clean/unmarked text, light soiling, lightly bumped/worn corners, 682 pages. No dust jackets. The author wrote the first volume about the history of the General Conference Mennonite Church (GCMC) in 1898 while serving as pastor in Canton, OH. Forty years later he published the second volume, after he retired. Provides a detailed history of the founding of the GCMC in 1860 to the date of publication of volume 2 which was 1938. The GCMC merged with the Mennonite Church in the early 2000s which created the Mennonite Church USA. Bookseller Inventory # 8501
