circa 1916. Green pebbled cloth with gilt titling and four raised bands on the spine. Marbled page edges. 411, 414, 381, 377 pp. With black and white photos throughout. An exhaustive history of New Hampshire covering its settlement, early settlers and explorations, the colonial period, King William's War, Queen Anne's War, the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, studies of Daniel Webster, Franklin Pierce and others, abolitionists, the Civil War, etc. All in VERY GOOD condition with moderate fading to the spines. Light fading, scuffing and soiling to the covers and extremities. Slight offsetting to the front cover of the first volume. Interiors clean and solid with minor browning to the paper.
