Wilmington. 1846. 312pp. plus four plates (including frontis.) and two plans, and a folding map. Contemporary calf, gilt morocco label. Calf a bit scuffed at edges and spine. Frontis. loosening. Scattered light foxing. Very good. HOWES F97. SABIN 24183. LARNED 1064. A history of the settlements along the Delaware River, from its earliest discovery by Hudson to the turn of the 19th century. The second half of the text reviews the religious history of the Swedish settlers.
