About this Item

Thick quarto. Full brown leather binding with elaborate gold stampings to the spine and covers. The binding shows minor wear (some small scuffs here and there). We have treated the leather with a leather preservation used by The New York Public Library and The Library of Congress to good effect. The pages are tight and clean with no marks. Marbled edges to the text block with matching marbled free end sheets. The bookplate of Colonel Malcolm of Poltalloch on the inside of the front cover. Signature of Leonard Neill Macolm and the date November 30, 1849 on the blank sheet facing the title page. So a strong Scottish ownership provenance. 1364 pages. Photos available upon request. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Bookseller Inventory # MP14-1667Z
