The first two volumes, 341 pages and 410 pages (double columned), are from the third French edition. The third volume, 223 pages (double columned), was translated by H.White, and the translation was carefully revised by Dr. Merle D'Aubigne, presumably from the first French edition. Each "volume" contains an engaved frontispiece and numerous other engravings - all listed in the contents are present. BOOK IS BOUND IN 3/4/ BROWN LEATHER. LIGHT RUBBING AND WEAR TO BOARDS AND EDGES. CORNERS STRONG, BINDING TIGHT, HINGES GOOD. INTERIOR HAS SCATTERED LIGHT FOXING AND OCCASIONAL STAIN, BUT FUNDAMENTALLY CLEAN. An uncommon edition.
