12mo. Quarter black calf with gilt lettering and decoration and grey blind-embossed cloth. viii, 429pp, (2pp ads). Numerous maps and illustrations. Very good. Slilghtly edgeworn and a tad rubbed. Tight, handsome "New Edition" or second printing of this 1853 text. Continues the title, "With Additions, Containing History of the British American Provinces, History of Mexico, and the Constitution of the United States, with Explanatory Notes and Questions." The black calf spine is lovely, the gilt lettering as crisp as the day it was applied. Willson (1813-1905) was an educator, lawyer, and indefatigible author ofbestselling standard textbooks such as "Mosaics of Bible History," "Wonderful Story of Old," "Principles of Finance and Philosophy of Bimetallism" and others.
