Signed and inscribed by the author, Rudy Makoul: ÒFor the delightful Kathleen Burke, with my fondness - Rudy.Ó Laid-in are copies of various memoir manuscript papers, including a 7 page afterword by Makoul discussing his family, a 5 page short story by Makoul entitled ÔTake a Card,Õ a letter from the National Federation of the Blind - WriterÕs Division dated July 31, 2003 to Makoul congratulating him for winning second place in their short story fiction contest for ÔTake a Card,Õ a couple of xeroxes of newspaper articles mentioning MakoulÕs work on behalf of anti-Semitism, and 5 xeroxed pages of black & white photographs of Makoul at work with directors and actors (some of which were used in the book itself). Illustrated. Oversized paperbound format. With the recipientÕs address label affixed to the front cover. Very good plus slightly used copy in printed wrappers. As a child, Rudy Makoul developed a rare retinal condition known as macular degeneration which left him legally blind, but that did not deter him from following his dream of working in the entertainment industry, where he worked as a Hollywood dialogue coach with stars such as Jayne Mansfield, Burt Lancaster, Elizabeth Taylor, Charlton Heston, Katherine Hepburn, Janet Leigh, Cary Grant, and more.
