Incisione in rame, bellissima coloritura coeva, leggere bruniture dovute all'ossidazione del colore, generalmente in ottimo stato di conservazione. Two maps on one plate. Taken from the "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum", latin edition of 1603. The map on the left is of Schleswig-Holstein , the north end of Germany. Neighboring southern Jutland (Denmark) with islandsAlsen and Laland are featured as well as Sylt and Femarn in ruddy fashion typical for the 16th century. Parts of Lower Saxony south of the Elbe river and hints of Mecklenburg are bordering. The map on the right, id the east-oriented map concentrates on the three islands in the Baltic Sea, belongimg to Mecklenburg and Pomerania in Germany. Rügen, Usedom and Wolin are shown with their important towns and cities of the time. In the lower right is Barth and the island Hiddensee.
